Answer: Tallow balm is made from rendered and purified beef fat sourced from 100% grass-fed, grass-finished cattle, then blended with natural oils like jojoba, and for scented variants pure essential oils are added for a light, natural scent.
In fact, many major skincare brands such as Dove, Olay, and Ponds originally used beef tallow as their main base ingredient before switching to cheaper synthetic and petroleum-based alternatives. Tallow balm brings skincare back to its roots. Simple, effective, and completely natural.
Answer: No, it does not. Our tallow is triple purified, which removes the natural tallow scent. With the unscented version, all you will notice is a very subtle, slightly sweet scent from the jojoba oil.
Answer: Grass-fed, grass-finished tallow comes from cattle that eat a natural grass diet their entire lives, resulting in cleaner, more nutrient-dense fat that’s rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K.
In contrast, non–grass-finished cattle are often switched to grain-based diets before processing, which can reduce the nutritional quality and purity of the fat. Using grass-fed, grass-finished tallow ensures your skin gets the most nutrients possible.
Answer: Yes. Our tallow balm is made to work with all skin types, from dry and sensitive to oily or acne-prone. Because it closely mimics your skin’s natural oils, it helps balance, hydrate, and restore your skin barrier without irritation.
Answer: Whipped tallow offers the same nourishment as non whipped tallow, but with a far better user experience.
Whipping incorporates air into the balm, creating a lighter, creamier texture that absorbs faster and spreads effortlessly. It’s easier to scoop, melts instantly on contact, and applies smoothly without tugging or dragging, which makes it especially well suited for the face and daily use.
Non whipped tallow can be quite firm and requires warming between the hands before it’s workable. Whipped tallow skips that step entirely, making application quicker, more comfortable, and more enjoyable. For most people, the lighter feel, faster absorption, and ease of use make whipped tallow the superior choice.
Answer: No. This is a very common misconception. Our whipped balms contain the same amount of formula as non whipped versions. Whipping incorporates air, which increases volume and creates a lighter texture, but it does not reduce the amount of product you receive. Our jars are 118 ml or 4 fl oz, while many non whipped balms are typically around 59 ml or 2 fl oz.
Answer: Each jar of Le Crème is 118 mL (4 fl oz). If you are using it primarily on your face, one jar typically lasts about 3-4 months with daily use. If you are using it on your whole body, expect one jar to last about 2 months with regular use.
Answer: Le Crème is shelf stable for approximately 6-8 months when stored properly. For best results, keep it in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct heat and sunlight. If you would like to extend the shelf life, extra or unopened jars can be stored in the fridge to extend the shelf life to 1 year. If refrigerated, simply allow the balm to soften at room temperature before use.
